INTRODUCTION Phoenix Guest House is a 10 bedroom (8 en-suite / 2 with shower & hand basin) property located on Cocker Street, Blackpool. Phoenix Guest House understands the needs of & aims to be accessible for guests with disabilities or special needs & all efforts have been & will be made to meet their requirements where possible.
PRE-ARRIVAL • The Address is located on Cocker Street in North-Central Blackpool & is a 15 minute walk from the Blackpool Tower & Winter Gardens. • Blackpool North Station is 5 minutes walking. • Bus stops are within a 5 minute walking distance with a frequent service. • Tram stops are within a 5 minute walking distance. • Taxis can be arranged & contact numbers are provided at reception. • Our website is www.phoenixblackpool.com where full contact details, pictures of the rooms, floor rooms are located on, facilities available can be viewed.
ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES • Access by car can be made directly outside of the entrance to Phoenix Guest House during the hours of 8:00AM and 6:00PM Mon-Sat on Single Yellow Lines which have a 5 minute loading/unloading time. Access outside of these times may be limited due to parked vehicles. • Pay'N'Display car parks are located on Cocker Square, less than 60 yards from the hotel. These include 50 parking spaces and 5 disabled user bays. • Guests can request assistance with their luggage, shown to their rooms & facilities explained at any time during check-in. • For guests with mobility disabilities a gate onto the premises front garden might not be possible to open. Please inform us in advance of your arrival if assistance is required. • There are three steps into the main hallway/reception of the building. • The premises has 24 hour CCTV in operation.
MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION AREA • We have only one entrance and exit and has a minimum clearance of 750 mm. • The reception area is located within the entrance, and has a limited floor space only suitable for four persons with luggage. • There is no other storage or waiting area located on the ground floor which has unlimited access for guests.
PUBLIC AREAS - HALL, STAIRS, LANDING,CORRIDORS ETC • The whole ground floor is carpeted with a deep pile. • The reception area & breakfast room are located on this floor. • There are 12 steps (upward) to the first floor, and a further 3 steps leading to room numbers 1 & 2. • There are 4 steps (upward) from the first floor, leading to room numbers 3, 4 & 5. • There are 15 steps (upward) from the first floor to the second floor, and a further 2 steps leading to room number 6 & 7. • There are 4 steps (upward) from the second floor, leading to room numbers 8, 9 & 10. • All steps, corridors & rooms are carpeted. The steps are approx. 70-75 cm wide, 25 cm deep & 20 cm high. • The corridors are well lit by the emergency lighting system throughout the day & night. For additional lighting, please use the corridor light switches of which are on time lags IE They will go off automatically after a short time.
PUBLIC AREAS - DINING ROOM & FRONT GARDEN • The Breakfast Room is on the ground floor and is carpeted. The entrance has a clearance of 750 mm. • We have wooden tables with armless chairs. • The radio is normally on during breakfast. • Continental Breakfast is fully self-service, with some items located at shoulder height. Please ask at reception if assistance is required. • A Food Allergies & Intolerances notice is clearly visible for all food items, but please ask if unsure about any of the ingredients.
GUEST BEDROOMS • All of our rooms are equipped with very sensitive smoke detectors, and most with Strobe Lighting in case of an emergency. Please state when booking if strobe lighting is required in your room. • Room number 2 has 1 step (upward) into the en-suite. • All of the en-suites are fitted with showers, toilet & wash basin. • We have 2 rooms which are part en-suite & require the use of the public WC. Room numbers 5 on the first floor & 10 on the second floor. • The WC is located on the second floor. 13 steps (upward) from room number 5. 4 steps (downward) & 2 steps (upward) from room number 10. • The public WC is for use by guests only. Visitors are not permitted on the premises.
LAUNDRY • Laundry facilities are not available on the premises, but there is a laundrette within 1 minute walking distance. • (Total Laundry Care, 61 Dickson Road)
SHOPS • Phoenix Guest House is located within 20 yards from two stores & 10-15 minutes walk to Sainbury's and main shopping & eating out areas.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION • Please take a few minutes to go through the Guest Welcome Pack which is in the black folder in your room. It will have most of the information that you may need during your stay with us. Please contact reception for further information. • Keys to the main entrance are with your room key and coloured green (late key). • A selection of local information is available in the display in the hall/reception area on the ground floor. • Phoenix Guest House is a non smoking property (inside). • Fire Extinguishers & Manual Fire Alarms are located on each floor & are clearly marked. • Mobile reception is generally good, and WiFi is available throughout the premises.
